it's all on the shoes

after much drama (and an additional $90 to cover postage) with the jeffrey campbell anne wedge i FINALLY have them sitting amongst my collection of other black boots...and it's love! much to my delight i also received these cute little vintage booties which i know will be my favourites come winter.

now i have to make a few excuses for the following pictures and only because i am very good at this.
1. very uninspirational outfit...excuse: i had just returned from a bbq dinner at my aunt's house. and no, i didn't wear the shoes.
2. terrible terrible background which i would usually edit out but it's late and i have an early start. did you know i have not one blank wall in my whole house to take photos in front of?! must work on this.
3. extremely awkward pose because...well, i'm not a model. and was never meant to be! duh.

and three amazing pics i stuck on my wall from an editorial featuring Tilda Swinton in a recent acne paper. freakin amazing!

i bit the bullett and decided to book a spontaneous two week trip to california with tickets to coachella!!!! the count down is on.

i haven't done a random picture post in quite a while and seem to have put together a collection over the past months which can't necesarily be separated into single posts. so here you go...various bits and pieces which are inspiring me at the moment.

while i am here, i will also have a whinge because my day was destroyed by the fact that my jeffrey campbell wedges (see post below) arrived and are almost 2 sizes too small! i now have to pay for the shipping back to the US to exchange them, and then the shipping back. i am distraught :(

flashback

every conversation of fashion faux paux growing up in the 90's should mention hiking boots, leggings and scrunchy socks. i never imagined that i may rekindle my love with said boots. i found these in a vintage store over the weekend for $10 and in mint condition! sadly, they are a half size too small and would cause some serious damage to my toes if worn further than my front door so if there is anyone out there who has mini feet (size 6) and would like these, leave me a comment. i want to find them a loving home.

everything is everything

i'm finding it increasingly difficult to write on here. lack of time, lack of inspiration, lack of words. toying with the idea of letting it go, but then i enjoy visiting every once in a while and being able to share bits and pieces with the few people who read my blog. so i'll keep it going for now....2010. a year i hope will be more productive than the last. i rarely succeed with resolutions, however i am committing myself to being more motivated at work and in saving money, taking a holiday and sewing classes. there...i am accountable now.

summer lovin

how i wish summer holidays could go on longer...i spent a week in a beach shack at eagle bay with good friends and had a blast! back to reality as of tomorrow and time to kick start the resolutions. happy new year to you all x

numberone

i found this dress in the vintage section of topshop about 4 years ago and still after countless wears, remains my favourite. it was originally much longer, past my knees but i had it taken up and it took away some of that tacky 80's taffeta prom style. here i wore it to spring carnival race day with an alannah hill head piece, alannah hill lace gloves and wayne cooper heels.

one of very few outfit posts. i'd love to do more but the self timer's lack of focus results in less than average shots. not to mention this weather does not allow for anything remotely creative...

if you haven't done so in the past, take a peek at Miss Jane Aldridge's blog, Sea of Shoes . not only does she own my most coveted ann d boots but she was recently dressed by Chanel in a haute couture gown for the Crillon Ball. life would be sweet....

out of sorts

i am inspired by all things soft and lacey, sun bleached hair and summer road trips, brought on no doubt by the sun which has finally set in (after an incredibly long wait mind you). unfortunately this stops at the imagination since i am incredibly busy with work and barely a moment to take in the sunshine. thankfully i have plans for the christmas and new year break to travel south and stay with friends at a beach house, relax on my aunt and uncle's boat and get some colour into my ghostly white skin.
